Miriam Black 2
August 28, 2012
Miriam is trying. Really, she is.
But this whole "settling down thing" that Louis has going for her just isn't working out. She lives on Long Beach Island all year around. Her home is a run-down double-wide trailer. She works at a grocery store as a check-out girl. And her relationship with Louis--who's on the road half the time in his truck--is subject to the piss and vinegar Miriam brings to everything she does.
It just isn't going well. Still, she's keeping her psychic ability--to see when and how someone is going to die just by touching them--in check. But even that feels wrong somehow. Like she's keeping a tornado stoppered up in a tiny bottle.
Then comes one bad day that turns it all on her ear.
BLACKBIRDS was so unique and very anti-hero I am six-feet deep into Miriam Black and her sordid story by book's end. Knowing Miriam Black, trying to settle down isn't her cup of tea, either she blows it or the Fates' got it bad for her and things are bound to go awry eventually. And I want to be front and center when the tornado hits.
Full BloodedJessica McClain #1
September 1, 2012
Born the only female in an all male race, Jessica McClain isn’t just different—she’s feared.
After living under the radar for the last twenty-six years, Jessica is thrust unexpectedly into her first change, a full ten years late. She wakes up and finds she’s in the middle of a storm. Now that she’s become the only female full-blooded werewolf in town, the supernatural world is already clamoring to take a bite out of her and her new Pack must rise up and protect her.
I've been meaning to have this as my WoW for sometime but then I kept forgetting to feature it. I haven't read a good UF book in a while so I'm really looking forward to this book. I like that Carlson bringing in something new and different to the werewolf myth. Should be a fun and interesting read. I just bought the novella that introduces the series, Blooded: A Jessica McClain Novella, and I can't wait to get lost in Carlson's world.
So tell us, what book or books are you anxiously waiting for?
