Interview: Travis Maddox + Beautiful Disaster Giveaway (US/CA)

Talk Supe is very excited to have Travis Maddox from Jamie McGuire's national bestselling novel, Beautiful Disaster, on the blog. After reading Beautiful Disaster this past spring, Travis easily moved up Cimmaron's list of favorite bad boys. This gorgeous, smart and funny college student is a bad boy through and through with his tattoos, Harley Davidson bike and involvement in an illegal fight club. He's definitely the type of boy mother's warn their daughters about but for some reason they can't stay away from. He's dubbed the 'Walking One-Night-Stand' at his university but for some reason young ladies can't help but clamor around him.

When we were given the opportunity to ask Travis a few questions we were more than excited to jump on the chance. To make it even more fun, we asked a fellow Travis Maddox admirer and fan girl extraordinaire, Miss Vain of Miss Vain's Paranormal Fantasy, to join us in the interview. We figured she would be the perfect blogger tag team partner to go head to head with the enigmatic Travis Maddox. We weren't able to ask him all the questions we had swirling around our heads but hopefully you can get a little insight on this most intriguing man. We'd like to use a quote from Beautiful Disaster to introduce our special guest…

"Shake in your boots, boys, and drop your panties ladies!

I give you: Travis 'Mad Dog' Maddox!"

Cimmaron: Travis, thanks so much for taking the time to speak with Miss Vain and I. We are super thrilled to have you on our respective blogs today. Thrilled might be an understatement. Miss Vain and I are practically holding on to every bit of sanity left in us and trying not to tackle you. Can you give our readers a little introduction about yourself?

Travis: My name is Travis Maddox, the resident bad ass. That’s me in a nutshell. Seriously, though, um … a little about me? I have four brothers. I go to Eastern U. I get pretty good grades, I guess. I like to ride around on my Harley so I can think. My best friend is my cousin, his girlfriend is the biggest pain in my ass, and I also happen to have a soft spot for her best friend, Abby.

Cimmaron: LOL… America is the biggest paint in your ass. I'm sure you have a soft spot somewhere in your heart for her.

Miss Vain: What made Abby so compelling that you not only gave her the nickname "Pigeon" prior to your introduction and make the most irresistible college co-Ed away from his player ways?

Travis: Abby was different, you know? A girl on campus not clamoring for my attention? Call me conceited or whatever, but it was refreshing. She doesn’t put up with my shit. She let me chase her, but didn’t try too hard to get away. When I saw her … I don’t know, I just knew. Oh, and she’s hot.

Miss Vain: Suddenly you have discovered yourself on the cover of a national newspaper *gasp*, the headline would read "Travis Mad Dog Maddox…….” please fill in the blanks.

Travis: Was arrested last night for … just kidding. I hope.

Cimmaron: What’s your most treasured possession (aside from Abby, of course) and why?

Travis: My Harley Night Rod. I bought her with cash after winning my first big fight.

Miss Vain: Besides being an incredible fighter, lover, and straight A student, do you have a secret talent you've been hiding from us?

Travis: I sing a little.

Cimmaron: I thought you were a fabulous singer. I mean to get a group of football guys so sing 'Satisfation' in the school cafeteria was pretty awesome. It almost felt like I was thrown in the middle of Glee or High School Musical.

Cimmaron: What do you think about Jamie getting into your head to write Walking Disaster, the sequel to Beautiful Disaster?

Travis: The inside of my head is a little scary, if you want to know the truth. I have no outward filter, so you can imagine the things I hold back. Readers will be surprised to find out I’m a lot more contemplative than I seem, and I did have a strategy when I pursued Abby. At least, until I was too deep to think straight.

Cimmaron: I was already excited for your POV book but now that I know you had a strategy when pursuing Abby I'm more curious as how you were going to use your power of seduction to win her.

Miss Vain: If a famous Hollywood producer decided to make the story of your life Beautiful Disaster into a movie; which “A List” celebrities would you chose for the roles of?

Travis: Sean Connery for me. Okay, maybe an old me, but the dude is a bad ass. My second choice is Chuck Norris.

Cimmaron: Okay. So Sean Connery is a bit old but DUDE was James Bond. So I totally understand why you'd pick him. As for second choice? How can I argue with Chuck Norris. It's not possible.

Travis: Abby would play herself, because no one is more beautiful or amazing than she is, and no one could compare. In my humble opinion, of course. Is she gonna see this? Because that would definitely score.

Cimmaron: With that answer...you will most definitely be scoring.

Travis: For Shepley, Brad Pitt. Maybe Billy Bob Thorton. Either one plays a great smart ass.

Cimmaron: I actually pictured someone like Jared Padalecki to portray Shepley. I don't know, Jared just looks like a guy who would be named Shepley.

Travis: For America … Joan Rivers.

Cimmaron: I'm sure America will want to beat the sh*t out of you for saying that but that's pretty hilarious. Best effing answer.

Thanks to Jamie McGuire for letting us have a moment with Travis. He's definitely a character that's made quite an impression on us and we cannot wait to get more of him in the highly anticipated follow up to Beautiful Disaster, Walking Disaster. Walking Disaster will be the retelling of Beautiful Disaster but told in Travis' point of view. God only knows what we'll have in store when we follow Travis along in this roller coaster love story.

Meet Your New Obsession
Intense. Dangerous. Addictive
The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University's Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby needs—and wants—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

  16. The thing that draws me in about bad boys is that they are all fun, sex, and spice, but that the good ones have a softness and vulnerability about them if you dig deep enough.

  34. Purely for the fact that they're BAD! hehe.. Love me a bad boy ;) They take a walk on the wild side and have no problem doing it, which would most likely be a thriller for me and I'd love every moment of it. Also that they're hardasses. They can be bad to the bone, but when it comes to their woman, they're weak ;) ain't nothing wrong with that, RIGHT ladies? xD

    Great interview :)

  55. What is it about Bad Boys? I think it's the fact that they are, well, bad and usually don't show much of their heart to anybody.. but when they do, man is it beautiful.. These are the guys that usually feel the deepest, and that's just sexy... O yeah, and tattoos ~ gotta love a little ink ;)

  57. Usually I'm actually not that into bad boys. I like the good, sweet guys. But I think Beautiful Disaster is changing my perspective a little bit! Something is just making me fall head over heels for Travis! It must be the tattoos. I was never a huge tattoo girl but something about this book makes me suddenly think that they're hot!
