Feature & Follow #10

Feature & Follow is a weekly meme hosted by, Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. Each week, each host will have their own Feature Blog which allows them to show off more new blogs! It is a fun way to keep in touch with fellow bloggers, meet new bloggers and gain new followers.
This Week's Question
Do your reading habits change based on your mood? Do you read a certain genre if you are feeling depressed or happy?
Answer: My reading preference is pretty ADD, so I don't think my mood or emotions could handle all that bouncing around. I don't think I necessarily pick a certain genre when I'm feeling depressed or happy, I usually stick with genre's that I know I will be happy reading. I do notice that if I read a book that may be uber romantic, exciting or depressing and end up really liking it then I will find other books similar to that one just so I can keep riding that feeling.

So tell us, does your reading habits change based on your mood?

  1. Nice answer. My habits don't necessarily change my genre, but a bad mood will often drive me to switch things up.

  2. I totally agree with your answer. When I finish a great book, I usually look for others in that genre or read alikes. :)

  3. Love your answer- I feel the exact same way! If a book has me addicted and attached to the plot, I want a book that will make me feel the exact same way :P I'm a new GFC follower!

  4. Def. agree with you, Cimmaron. I love a wide variety of books. And I don't necessarily jump around depending on my mood. I can be completely content reading PNR for a long period of time and then switch it up when I feel like it.

  11. Yeah! I'm completely Bipolar when it comes to my reads, but I know what you mean about riding the feeling! I've found myself in some rather large book ruts, digging my way out of the trenches with paperbacks that just don't quite cut it! BOY, do I have the rambles tonight! Yeesh! Sorry! ;)
Anyway, stopping through with My FF!
Also, did I read it was your Birthday, Cimmaron? If so, HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BABY! If it's not your Birthday, save that till next time! ;) OK, I'm shutting up now! O_O
