Feature and Follow #9

Feature & Follow is a weekly meme hosted by, Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. Each week, each host will have their own Feature Blog which allows them to show off more new blogs! It is a fun way to keep in touch with fellow bloggers, meet new bloggers and gain new followers.
This Week's Question
Summer Reading. What was your favorite book that you were REQUIRED to read when you were in school?
Answer:
Growing up in Georgia it's almost a given for everyone to read Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. This EPIC story is still one of my favorite reads of all time AND the movie is just as wonderful. Scarlotte O' Hara is one of those heroines that you come to love and hate. One minute you're infuriated with her because she's a total b*tch but then the next she's off saving the day. Then you've got the Southern gentleman, Rhett Butler, who'll lure you in with his charms. You get so riled up with his arrogant demeanor and admire him for being the only person man enough to handle Scarlett. Those two really were meant to be because as much as they each played the role, neither was a proper lady or gentleman.

Honorable Mentions: Island of the Blue Dolphins, The Grapes of Wrath, The Good Earth, To Kill a Mockingbird and Of Mice & Men.

So tell us, what was your favorite required read?

    1. I actually first watched the movie when I was younger but didn't have to read the book till I was in high school or middle school. If I had to watch a movie like this when I first arrived in America I would be fairly lost too. LOL!

    1. I remember liking this book in high school but I think I finally understoof the depths of the characters and story of this book well after I graduated from high school. I appreciated the story a little more when I read this book again when I was in my 20's.

  18. My school did not require that book, but I read it on my own, and loved it. I remember reading Watership Down too for a book report, and it was hard, as it was so long, and different, but did get an A+ on it, lol.
