BLOG TOUR: Forbidden by Fate by Kristin Miller + Giveaway

A forbidden love.....
A second chance……
A night of passion neither will forget.

Sasha, a love-thirsty werewolf and rightful heir to the Were throne, is ready to take control over her pack. But when her first love, dragon shifter Damon Frost, lands on her doorstep, demanding their races negotiate ownership over Feralon’’s hot springs, he makes her question more than the fight for the enchanted neutral ground. No matter the emotions bubbling inside her, Sasha can’’t become involved with Damon. Not now. Not ever again.

Forbidden to step foot onto Were land after a romp with the Alpha’’s daughter as a teenager, Damon has bided his time, waiting for the day when he’’d be accepted back onto Were land. Using the hot spring negotiation as a way to get closer to Sasha, Damon plans to use every minute alone to remind her of the passion they shared–—a passion they could ignite again.

One night of ecstasy stands between them and the fight for the springs. One night of revealing glances, skin searing chemistry, and erotic desires they’’d long buried.

Will one taste of forbidden love be enough to satiate their desires? Or will the need to explore the depths of their love unleash a Were-Draco war?

Meet Author Kristin Miller...

Kristin Miller has had a passion for language and literature her whole life. Born and raised in Small Town USA, she often made up stories about faraway places and edge-of-your-seat adventures.

After graduating from Humboldt State University with a degree in psychology, Kristin realized there is no scarier place than the warped human psyche. Wanting to combine her love of writing with her desire to paint twisted villains, Kristin wound up in the unlikeliest of places—the classroom. She taught high school and middle school English before giving in to the desire to create her own world, where villains can be sympathetic and heroes can be devilishly good.

Talk Supe: Welcome to Talk Supe, Kristin!
Kristin: Thanks so much for having me!

Talk Supe: Can you share a little of your current work with us?
Kristin:
Dragon shifter Damon Frost has been banned from stepping foot onto Were land after sharing a night of pleasure with Sasha Moore, heir to the Were throne. Since then, he's been waiting for the opportunity to return and claim her once again—until a territory dispute finally reunites him with his werewolf princess. Damon plans to use every minute with Sasha to remind her of the passion they shared—a fire he's determined to reignite.

With their desire impossible to resist, Damon and Sasha indulge in a night of illicit ecstasy. But will it be enough to satisfy their lust? Or will their forbidden love start a war between their clans?

Talk Supe: Could you tell us a little more about the Isles of Feralon series and how you came up with the idea?
Kristin: The Isle of Feralon is an enchanted isle of shifters. Dragons rule the air, Werewolves rule the land and Merfolk rule the sea. When not in shifting form, these creatures look like you and me (with a few fun features to show from which race they belong.) I live in Northern California, and the Farralon Islands are right off the coast of San Francisco. I wondered what would happen if the isle looked rocky and uninhabited to us, but a secret was buried within. What if there was a portal that only shifters could take, that would lead to this wonderful, magical place? The Isle of Feralon took shape quickly after that.

Talk Supe: A love story between a werewolf and dragon. Dragons! What made you want to write about dragons as opposed to other shape shifters?
Kristin: Ooh, I love dragons. They’re powerful creatures with natural protective instincts, who dominate the skies and heat up their bedrooms. What’s not to love?

Talk Supe: What sort of research do you do to write about paranormal creatures such as werewolves, dragons and merfolk?
Kristin: I do a TON of research before writing. Most of my research is done on Wikipedia, though I’ve been known to spend long hours on questionable sites. (Right now I’m deep into a black magic/voodoo site for my next book.) I researched the foundations for these creatures before writing. I studied their mythological roots and how they’ve evolved through literature and film. I probably researched dragons a good month before I started writing them…then, of course, some of the research flew out the window as I made the dragons fit the world I created.

Talk Supe: You also have a series about vampires. Could you tell us a little more about that series?
Kristin: Where the Isle of Feralon series is magical and enchanted and a bit more on the fantasy side of the genre, my Vampires of Crimson Bay series is hard core paranormal romance. The books are dark and gritty, hot and steamy. They’re about a blood war between vampires and shapeshifters on the streets of San Francisco. The third book in the series, Last Vamp Standing, releases August 28th from Avon Impulse.

Talk Supe: Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?
Kristin: I’ve loved reading and writing my entire life, but I never thought I could actually write a book. I majored in English at Humboldt State University and taught high school for a few years. It wasn’t until I stayed home to raise my two kids that I started writing. I took a simple premise, sat down to see how long it’d take me to get bored with writing and the process. The book was written three months later, and another one was written four months after that. I’m still waiting to get bored…only now I don’t think that’s going to happen.

Talk Supe: When did you love for paranormal start?
Kristin: My favorite books have always been “paranormal dark”, even though they weren’t in the paranormal genre. Growing up, I read Dean Koontz and John Saul when all of my friends were reading lighter, more teen-appropriate stuff. Although those books were mainly suspense, my favorites were always the ones that had a paranormal aspect to them. (Dean Koontz Cold Fire and John Saul’s Darkness, for example.) But it wasn’t until I read my first paranormal infused with romance (Nora Robert’s Circle Trilogy) that I found my new literary love.

Talk Supe: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
Kristin: That’s a great question, but I’d have to say no. I love everything about my characters, how their relationship grows, and the world they live in. I’m hooked.

Talk Supe: Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
Kristin: I have a handful of favorite writers at the moment, but on any given day, Nora Roberts tops my list. You can’t go wrong reading one of her books. I’ve written enough to know the process isn’t effortless (no matter who you are), but she makes it look like it is, and *that* is what I admire most.

Talk Supe: What do you like to do when you are not writing?
Kristin: I enjoy reading (of course, right?), baking, watching shameless Reality TV and playing with my kids. If you’re not counting the day-to-day, I absolutely love snowboarding.

Talk Supe: Thanks so much for stopping by Talk Supe today! Do you have any parting words to our readers?
Kristin: Thank you for taking the time to stop by today and thank you for loving reading so much that you allow me to do what I love—creating stories to fill your shelves!
